Privacy Policy

When you use Val Petz, we collect:

• Pet photos you upload for sprite generation. These are stored temporarily in a private storage bucket.
• Recipient name, pet name, and your valentine message — used solely to create and display your valentine.
• Email address — collected through Stripe at checkout. Used to identify your account and associate your valentines.
• Payment information — processed entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.

• Your pet photo is analyzed by AI (Claude Vision) to generate a pixel art sprite. The photo is not used for any other purpose.
• Your valentine message, recipient name, and pet name are displayed on the valentine page you share.
• Your email is used to link valentines to your account and for transactional purposes only.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

We use the following services to operate Val Petz:

• Supabase — database and file storage
• Stripe — payment processing
• Anthropic (Claude) — AI pet photo analysis
• Replicate / PixelLab — AI sprite generation
• Vercel — hosting

Each service processes data according to their own privacy policies. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.

• Pet photos are stored for the duration needed to generate your sprite and may be deleted afterward.
• Generated sprites and valentine data are retained so your valentine link continues to work.
• If you want your data deleted, contact us and we will remove it within 30 days.

Val Petz uses only essential cookies for authentication. We do not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or advertising cookies.

Val Petz is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us.

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
